ok for those who turn up for soccer kudos to all you you. but to those making stupid excuses such as tired and going out last minute you should feel guilty.
ok enough abt the soccer thing. i want to talk abt the hip hop scene in da land of singapura. well well well i see those teenage krews in their all out hip hop trendy fashion with all those baggy jeans and trucker caps and nike air jordan. as for me i don't see harm in wearing all those but the point i'm trying to say here is our generation is allcopied from our western counterparts. how i miss those days when ppl were watching bujang lapok and be proud to call it ther own rather than trying say 8 mile did make an impact on their lives. mari adik mari abang sini saya tunjuk yang movie hollywood ini semua nak bikin duit. so to make the show a money spinning machine they talk about anger, hate and racism. well i didn't watch 8 mile, but come on is singapura full of anger, hate and racism? i think not. our society is full of copycats. i'm not saying that i'm not one but please don't overdo it. i saw 2 girls dancing the ghetto style just now infront of me. how i wished i didn't see it. now we're all divided into many styles hiphop, the jap look, the 'indie' look, the mat look. oh well besok kita pakai sarong and songkok and baju melayu. our culture is fast disappearing and i can forsee thant when i become a grandfather my hari raya will not be kueh tat or makmur but some chicken pie perhaps and lontong will be replaced by smoked turkey. this all happens because the british, dutch, spanish colonised the world. imagine if it were the malays or rather asians. i would see the world speaking malay or even cantonese. but oh well the world is ruled by westerners and this is called western imprialism. and speaking abt language, the govt is trying so hard to improve mandarin and even have a speak good mandarin campaign. i see what's the problem cos even my chinese friend can't speak proper standard mandarin but don't get me wrong i see an old indian and a chinese man speak malay at the pasar. i see dirty ol ahpeks ordering coffee at the teh sarbat stall with the good old phrase "man kopi o satu". our national anthem is in malay. but why? i don't know..really. there are lots more which bothers me but i should stop here. pok pok pok bujang lapok ade mancis tak ade rokok...hahaah budjet jones, i like.
