Not every one of these insomnia techniques alone will get you to sleep, but a few of them at least should prove successful. Needless to say, there's no guarantee, and no attempt to provide medical advice.
With that caveat out of the way, we can only wish you good luck. And a good night's sleep.
Insomnia techniques you've probably already tried but are still worth trying again.

* See a Doctor
Insomnia can be a symptom of physical disorders, although for most of us it's the result of tension, stress and anxiety—and of course the more anxious we get about our insomnia, the worse it gets. If your doctor pronounces you a "healthy" insomniac, he might suggest some of the techniques provided here. Or she might prescribe drugs to help you get to sleep.
We suggest you try all these methods first, and use drugs only as a last resort. The decision, of course, is yours.

* Take a Warm Bath
It's a great way to relax your body. Don't overdo it, however. You merely want to relax your body, not exhaust it. Too long in hot water and your body is drained of vitality.
Use bath salts, or throw in Epsom salts and baking soda—one cup of each. These will relax you and also help remove toxins from your body.

* Get a Massage
Have your spouse (or whoever) give you a massage just before going to sleep. If you can convince them to give you a full body massage, great. If not, even a short backrub and/or a face and scalp massage can be a big help. Have them make the massage strokes slow, gentle, yet firm, to work the tension out of your muscles and soothe you to sleep.

* Listen to Music
Play some soft, soothing music that will lull you to sleep. There are even cassettes and records designed for that very purpose. Some are specially composed music, others simply have sounds of waves rhythmically breaking, or the steady pattern of a heartbeat.
Of course if you don't have a record, cassette or CD player that will automatically turn off, we don't suggest this. If you have to get up and turn it off at the end, you've obviously lost its effect.

* Drink Warm Milk
A glass of warm milk 15 minutes before going to bed will soothe your nervous system. Milk contains calcium, which works directly on jagged nerves to make them (and you) relax.

* Drink Herb Tea
If you don't like milk—or are avoiding dairy products—try a cup of hot camomile, catnip, anise or fennel tea. All contain natural ingredients which will help you sleep. Most health food stores will also have special blends of herb tea designed to soothe you and help you get to sleep.

* Eat a Bedtime Snack
* Avoid Caffeine, Alcohol and Tobacco
* Sleep in a Well-Ventilated Room
* Sleep on a Good Firm Bed
* Sleep on Your Back
* Get Some Physical Exercise During the Day
* Keep Regular Bedtime Hours
* If You Can't Sleep, Get Up
* Don't Sleep In
* Get Up Earlier in the Morning
* Keep Your Bed a Place for Sleep
* Avoid Naps
* Avoid Illuminated Bedroom Clocks

Of course there's the standard insomnia remedy

everytime i went for my follow up appointment at the hospital i would ask to see the pic they took.. and everytime i see the bloody face of mine, i would just smile.
and this time the doctor ask out of curiosity y must i smile everytime i see the pics.. and i go' uh ugh .. dunno?' i myself couldn't figure it out y.
i read a report made my god knows who when i admitted... the story state this poly student was assaulted and his girlfriend got kidnapped and he ride on his motorbike after her and skidded then crash... ............ a really dot dot dot story.. 1stly nobody would go after the girlfriend and crash. 2ndly i dun have a girlfriend.. mayb the one came out with such report just seen an hindustan film.

i still remember it was like a yr ago when i was in the states at that time, i did a christmas shopping thingy(even though i didn't celebrate it) but can't help it cos during that time in that country... everything is soooooo cheap and worth getting almost everything. a place where sell almost everything, from levi's jeans to ck perfumes back to all kinds of fancy design shirts to nice casual jackets and shirts. and not forgetting an ipod for my brother.oh! and masks for bob, rod and myself! hahaha!! looking back at the receipt(which i still have it in my travel wallet) spent to us$600+ for a luggage full in the end. half of the things which dun fancy me i gave to the families and another half... mine!

its end of the yr.. hai~ time past really fast. and i'm broke! for this yr haven't been getting things due to the incident few month back ended me up to paying bills, fines, and all sort of repair work. thought of a holiday but i got to think of the financial thing still. hadn't enough of travelling still? just hope everything will go on smoothly by next month.
when is the last time i went out as in really outings with friends,

i found myself thinking back of the time spending my attachment working onboard ship sailing to other countries. and that was like 11 month ago i ended up the sailing thing and decided to better stay here in my own country due to being alone and not seeing my family and friends and missing the fun and excitement things around here. would just dream and think back of home.
but after now, to think of it, i'm feeling much more better onboard than wat i am now.
i could gone mad sometimes onboard when i'm all alone. but i even gone much more mad when i'm all alone here at home.
i find it weird when i got nothing to do or no one disturbing me onboard. but i find it much more weird here at home with nothing to do and nobody disturbing me.

mayb its the accepting some fate thingy or just a part and parcel of growing up..

touching this year. Every year always this part is the touching part bila nk minta maaf pada pagi syawal. lagi2 past 2 raye not at home and the incident took place this yr a few days b4 puase... Hmm.. Can't wait for this moment. but i dunno wat to say!!?

the past 2 raye.. 1st was at australia or new orleans i forgot and 2nd was mexico or new orleans.. I was like, shittttttt... I sooooo dun wanna do this. So yeah, trust me, I was soooo relieved. Talked to my emotional sis (who was suprisingly v. cheerful), dad then bro who i was like WTH??( he cried so ???).
then it was time. The minta maaf bit. I was like, "Ma, ABg nak minta maaf ni.." Then she was all quiet. Then came the sobbing. I was like, damnit... there goes all my effort not to cry. So of course la kan, I cried too. My mama cried, how can I not? Has there been a time that I dont cry when someone oh so dear to me is crying? Na'aaahh... I dont think so! i skip the forgivness part and i just wish them all e best

just last month.. i was on my way to school in the early morning for my 2nd last paper
i didn't make it cos i met an accident. just a few more km to sch, mayb less
it left me to kinda visit to the hospital and stay at home
supposedly it was the end of my poly life but i gotta stay for the modules i've missed
thus a holiday spent at home putting and taking medication

how the accident happen and all after that, i just hear from people.
this was me at e hospital few hours after the accident; clean and stitches done
few abrasion on my right arm and leg
hard impact to e center divider- face first to e green fence cause my visor to break
scars on my forehead, left cheek and below mouth
cheekbone fractured to pieces, left jaw and lower front teeth loose
should see e pic before the stitch with blood and skin loose all over my face
went for plastic and reconstruction of the face surgery
now 'metal plate' in me?

after weeks of needing pain killer and sleepless night still
now slowly the scars fading thanks to the fine stitches and silicone gel for scar reduction
when there's an itch on my face, no use scratching it
i won't feel anything but numb
'll go for my dental in a few days time even on fasting month
swell gradually subsiding but the pulsation's still kinda irritating

1 month break. now after my hair cut like adi bob, i'm able to put on e helmet and travel to my destination. a men can't b sitting at home doing nothing.

ever since the day after the accident till now, have this self thoughts and questions keep running (some jogging while some sprinting)around in my head.

not to mention the funny scary dreams and aftermath. the follow up appointment with the hospital, the repair to the damages, mentally but not too much physical curing to myself. my teeth still need a fix quick or i'll loose my appetite to good food, the scar which i dun mind much is slowly healing and the swelling which take toooooo long to subside! what the hell right.

i still can't figure out how to accept this so called fate and the outcome i have to make do things back to normal.. just can't wait cos it take too much time and i have to wait long for everything to be as per normal.

the thing is.. i'm bored and i just can't stand of doing nothing like this!!!

I find myself bored! sad! sick!

bored with the nothing to do when whole day sitting at home realizing my left hand is better than my right till late night where i'll make the move to the coffee shop with other bunch of people like me drinking teh ice and talking bout the morning papers we read, the bills we received, the sad life of ours and GROsILF passing by.

Sad with my age when others like me already serving the nation and some pursuing better qualifications while i'm still waiting for my final revision and final exams and examination exams and short courses and assessment and god knows what else that going to burn my pocket.

And sick with all the above.as long as i'm happy thanks to the ok-ah-gerek-nak-mampos-kadang-kadang-irritating-tak abes-abes-ajak-gi-tengok-overseas-movie-tapi-tak-jadi nye friends who only knows what each of us have gone through and going through even though it sound gay which i don't mind if any of us are one or going to be one or not even one or whatever.
Think of it. Thats what bestest of friends are for. I just choose to show my different side to different people differently.
